Porath, Jennie (4 MAR 1901 – 8 SEP 1972)

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 11, 1972 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee, for Mrs. Jennie Porath, 71, Neillsville, who died Friday, September 8, 1972 at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.

The Rev. Arthur Hellert officiated and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Arne Kolpanen, Ed Eloranta, Robert Johnson, Leino Kolpanen, Harold Laube, and Art Finnila.

The former Jennie Salo was born March 4, 1901 in Michigan, and came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1908. She received her education at South Bright Grade School, and was married to Alfred Porath on June 5, 1924, at Owen. They both worked in Milwaukee and at the Clark County Hospital until 1929, when they engaged inf arming in the Town of Green Grove from that time on.

Survivors include two sons, Norman Porath, Marshfield, Edwin Porath of Owen; four grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Louis (Lillian) Schecklman, Waukegan, Illinois.

I addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers.
