Dums, Margaret (4 SEP 1892 – 23 NOV 1972)
Funeral services for Mrs. John H. Dums, 80, rural Rib Lake, who died last
Thursday at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Rib Lake, were held Monday at 10:30
a.m. at the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Catholic Church in Chelsea. The Rev.
Thomas Conway, Westboro, officiated, and burial was made in St. Anne's Catholic
Cemetery in the town of Greenwood.
The body lay in state at the Mannel Funeral Home in Rib Lake, and Rosary
devotions were held there on Sunday morning.
The former Margaret Kolecheck was born in Columbus, Nebraska September 4, 1892,
and moved to Rib Lake with her parents when she was four years old.
Her marriage to John H. Dums took place October 30, 1917 at St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church in Rib Lake. The husband died September 26, 1970.
Mrs. Dums is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Louis (Regina) Czerniak, Westboro;
Helen at home; Mrs. Lloyd (Margaret) Vicker, Owen, and Marcella at home; four
sons, Joseph at home; Bernard, Donald and John Jr., all of rural Rib Lake; 23
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Frank Kolecheck, Westboro,
and John Kolecheck, Medford; and four sisters, Mrs. Mark Headstream, Excelsior,
Minnesota; Mrs. Edith Slais, Hamilton, Michigan; Mrs. Mary Hill, Chicago, and
Miss Annie Kolecheck, Chicago.
