Thompson, William H. (7 DEC 1912 – DEC 1972)
Funeral services for William Henry Thompson, 60, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), were
held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, with
Rev. Lester Kringle, pastor of the Alliance Church, Owen, officiating. Burial
was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Ernest Schade, Ronald Gosse, Edward Anderson, Adolph
Haavisto, George Bender, and Floyd Wilson.
The deceased was last seen when he checked in for a room at the Woodland Hotel,
Owen, late a week ago Wednesday night, saying that he had lost his keys for
Marge's Greenhouse, where he was employed and made his residence. Twice early
Thursday forenoon and afternoon the room was checked and found to be locked.
Early that evening, H.J. Callaway, hotel owner, entered the room with a master
key and found his dead in bed. Clark County Coroner, Robert Lulloff and Sheriff
David Bertz were called to the scene, and it was ruled that he died of natural
causes, with death being attributed to a heart attack.
William Henry Thompson was born December 7, 1912 in Spooner. He had been a
resident of Owen for more than 20 years, and was an employee of Marge's Floral
Shop.
His passing is mourned by two sisters, Mrs. A.R. (Alice) Stentrom, Tillman,
Washington, and Connie Thompson, Medford, Oregon; a brother, LeRoy Thompson,
Seattle, Washington; and a son, Eugene Thompson, Stone Lake.
