Jaskot, Leopold (13 NOV 1926 – 10 MAR 1971)
A dell Rapids, South Dakota Man was killed Wednesday when a bulk milk truck
apparently went out of control and rolled on a country road seven miles west of
Dell Rapids.
The victim was Leopold Jaskot, 44. He was thrown from the ruck and it rolled
over him.
Officials said the truck was driven by Jaskot's 16-year-old son, Michael. He was
treated and released after the 9 a.m. accident.
It was reported than a spindle broke on the front axle of the truck.
A Requiem Mass was celebrated for Mr. and Jaskot at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St.
Mary's Church, Del Rapids. Rosary was recited at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the
Hermanson-Kohler Funeral Home.
Mr. Jaskot was born November 13, 1926 at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). He attended
schools at Thorp. In 1945 he served in World War II. On September 25, 1950 he
married Dorothy Pekron of Grenville, and the couple moved to Dell Rapids. For
the past 11 years he has operated a rural milk route in the Dells Rapids area.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Joseph and Mike, Dell Rapids; his mother,
Mrs. Mary Jaskot, Thorp; nine brothers, Walter, Albin, Raymond of Thorp; John,
Joseph, Leon, Edward, Clemence of Chicago; Bernard of Berwyn, Illinois; and
three sisters, Ann at Fox Lake, Illinois; Jean of Chicago, and Irene of
Wildwood, Illinois.
