Decot, Merry Ellen (20 FEB 1971)
The wedding of Merry Ellen Decot and Sergeant Larry L. Winger was held at the
Church of the Nazarene, Saturday, February 20, 1971 at 1:30 p.m.. The Reverend
Earl A. Cooprider officiated.
The bride's gown was of white lace and she carried a bouquet of red roses. Her
attendants, Mrs. Marvalene Nachtigal, the bride's sister, and Mrs. Mary Decot,
the bride's sister-in-law, were attired in blue and carried blue carnations.
The groom's attendants were his two brothers, Otis and Jerry Winger; and the
ushers were Charles Winger and Dwight Decot, brothers of the bride and groom.
A reception was held following the wedding at the Schmidt Fellowship Hall.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Decot Sr. of Richland Center.
She graduated from Richland Center High School in 1969 and was employed at
O'Bryan's.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Winger Sr. of Gilman. He graduated from
Gilman High School in 1969 and is serving in the Army. He recently returned from
an overseas tour in Vietnam, where he served ten months of active duty with the
199th L.I.B. and First Air Calvary. The couple is now enroute to Fort Benning,
Georgia, where he will receive his new orders.
