Kiel, Joe Frank (22 JUL 1895 – 16 MAR 1971)
Joe Frank Kiel, 75, of 710 S. Prairie died Tuesday evening at his home in Miles
City, Montana.
Mr. Kiel was born in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) July 22, 1895, and married here May
13, 1926 to Edna Zwolinski.
They went to Montana in 1925 and homesteaded on the Mispah in 1927. In 1941 they
bought a ranch on Powder River. He retired to Miles City in 1965.
Surviving are his wife, Edna; three sons, Per and Joe Kiel Jr., both of Miles
City, and Edward of Billings, Montana; and five daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Alice)
Grasby and Mrs. James (Mary) Mallott, both of Powderville; Mrs. Earl (Dorothy)
Norman of Crawford, Nebraska; Mrs. Carl (Virginia) Frise, Miles City, and Mrs.
Harvey (Edna) Bold of Libby, Montana.
Also surviving are a brother, John Kiel, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Zwolinski,
both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Thirty-six grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
