Funeral services for a former Stanley (Chippewa Co., Wis.) resident, Fred
Valley, 70, were held Wednesday from the Gaffney Funeral Home in Eagle River,
Wisconsin. The Reverend Henry Gozenski officiated, and burial was made in the
Three Lakes Cemetery.
Mr. Valley, who died in the eagle River Memorial Hospital after a two-week
illness, was born October 22, 1900 in Stanley. He was a former Police Chief of
Stanley,a nd was a veteran of both World War I and II. He was a member of the
Three Lakes VFW post. His wife preceded him in death.
He is survived by a half-brother, Wilbur Smith, of Clearwater Lake; and a
sister, Mildred Garmand of Oklahoma City.
