Kendra, Severy (17 SEP 1895 – 27 MAR 1971)
Severy Kendra, resident of Gilman (Taylor Co.), Wisconsin, died at St. Joseph's
Hospital, Chippewa Falls, Saturday afternoon, March 27, 1971.
He was born in Poland on September 17, 1895, son of Anton and Josephine Kendra.
He came to the U.S. in 1913 to the Town of Taft (Taylor Co.), and served the
U.S. Army during World War I. On June 8, 1929 he was united in marriage to
Nellie Terlikowski at Lublin. After their marriage he farmed in the Gilman area
until 1948, when he retired and moved to the village of Gilman. He had been
hospitalized for the last three weeks. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church, Gilman, and the Gilman American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie, of Gilman; four brothers, Joseph of Chicago,
Julius of Detroit, Michigan, and Ed and Victor of Gilman; and three sisters,
Mrs. Lottie Lewan, Mrs. Ellen Filipiak, and Mrs. Stella Warczytowa, all of
Gilman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church, Gilman, with Father Alphonse Zoltowski officiating. Burial was
in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Gilman.
