Hartman, Marlane “Molly” (Brecht) (31 AUG 1949 - 13 JUL 2018)
Marlane “Molly” (Brecht) Hartman, age 68, of Wabasha, MN, formerly of Alma, WI
passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018, at her home in Wabasha.
Services were held at Talbot Funeral Home in Alma in July 23, 2018, with burial
at Alma Memorial Cemetery.

WABASHA/ALMA, Wis. — Marlane “Molly” (Brecht) Hartman, 68, of Wabasha, formerly
of Alma, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at her home in Wabasha.
She was born Aug. 31, 1949, to Clarence and Shirley (Vogel) Brecht, living in
the Loyal, Wis., area until she was 13, when her family moved to Owen, Wis.
There she learned her love of horses and outdoors on the Haemer Farm. She
graduated from Owen High School in 1967; after that she went to UW-La Crosse and
received her B.S. degree in mathematics and computer science. She then went on
to work at Aetna Insurance in Milwaukee. Molly later moved to Alma, where she
met and married Roger Hartman Dec. 12, 1980. They spent their free time enjoying
the scenic bluffs and “weekended” on their houseboat on the Mississippi River.
Roger passed away Nov. 11, 1985, and soon after that she moved to Wabasha and
continued her education receiving a M.A. degree in counseling and psychological
services. She was a licensed counselor for different places. After retirement,
she volunteered at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley; brothers, Kent (Christine) Owen, Bruce
(Shirley) Withee; sister-in-law, Sandy (Rich) Thorp; niece, Lacey (Randy)
Ladewig and their girls; nephew, Jeremy (Jennifer) and their family and many
friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; father, Clarence; and brother,
Dave.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, at Talbot Family
Funeral Homes, Alma Chapel, with a visitation beginning at 9 a.m. until the time
of the service. Interment will immediately follow the service at Alma Memorial
Cemetery.
