Bernadine Jane Schreiner, daughter of Mrs. Loretta Schreiner and the late
Charles Schreiner of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), and Kenneth Norman Pollack, son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Pollack of Colby, were married at St. Mar’s Catholic Church
Saturday, June 21, 1969.
The 12:30 p.m. ceremony was performed by Father John Olson. Mrs. Al Gabrel
played the organ and accompanied the school choir.
Mrs. Dave Weix of Colby, sister of the bride, served as the matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Lenny Riehle of Edgar, sister of the bride, Mrs. Gerald
Geiger of Athens, the groom’s nephew’s wife, and Miss Veronic Kaiser of
Stratford, a friend of the bride. Best man was Dave Weix of Colby, and groomsmen
were Gerald Geiger, Athens, Leroy Riehle, Edgar, and a brother of the bride,
Virgil Schreiner, Colby.
The bride was seen in a floor length gown with scalloped Sabrina neckline on the
fitted bodice of Chantilly lace. The full skirt was of lace and organza, with a
lace Watteau train attached at the shoulders. The bouffant illusion veil was
secured to a petal cluster of lace and organza with pearl and crystal trim. She
carried a cascade of red roses and white carnations.
The attendants wore floor length gowns of chiffon over taffeta, with short
ssleeves and a satin wedding collar scooping at the back designed the molded
bodice. Satin encircled the empire waist, which followed into an A-line skirt.
Their headpieces were a cluster of rainbow colored sheer and taffeta petals to
which were secured four-tiered shoulder length veils. The matron of honor’s
dress was orchid and the bridesmaids wore maize. Their crescent bouquets were of
pastel carnations with white ribbons.
Annette Baehr and Mikie Lake served as flower girl and ring bearer. Performing
ushering duties were Jim Kittl and Vernell Schreiner.
Included in the day’s festivities were a dinner at St. Mary’s dining room and a
reception and dance at the Trianon Ballroom.
The bride attended Edgar schools, and has been employed at Standard Container at
Edgar. The groom attended Abbotsford schools and is a truck driver for Francis
Melvin at Abbotsford.
Folloiwng a wedding trip to an undisclosed destination, the couple will make
their home at 408 North Second Street, Colby.
