Steven Sterzinger of Colby is sworn in as second Lieutenant in the Air Force by
Frank Nikolay, a Lt. Col. With the Wisconsin National Guard. Sterzinger is one
of only 25 individuals who received direct commissions after taking competitive
examinations. He will begin active duty in August, and expects to receive his
orders in 30 to 45 days. He recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. His father, Morris Sterzinger, is a
Lt. Col. in the Marine Corps Reserved, and is now a student at Wisconsin state
University, River Falls. He will teach agriculture when he graduates next year.
