Commander Harold Stange of the Colby VFW Post 2227 was chosen as one of twelve
all-state commanders at the 48th annual VFW Convention banquet in Superior,
Wisconsin, June 27, 1969.
National VFW commander, Richard Home of Sugar Grove, West Virginia, present
Stange with a diamond lapel pin, a special cap and a check, as awards for his
selection. The selection was based on the participation in activities and
accomplishments of post commanders throughout the state.
Conrad Orth was awarded a ruby lapel pin for his selection as all-state
quartermaster at the convention.
Mr. Harold Stange and Mrs. Conrad Orth attended the presentation of awards to
their husbands.
