Eggert, Fred (26 MAY 1893 – 29 APR 1971)

Fred Eggert, age 77, former resident of the Town of Taft (Taylor Co., Wis.), died at the Augusta Nursing Home at Augusta, Wisconsin, Thursday evening.

He was born in Guttenberg, Iowa May 26, 1893, son of Adolph and Katrina Eggert. He grew up in Iowa and in November 1918 was united in marriage with Minnie Marie Schaub in Iowa. They farmed near Cedar Creek, Iowa, and went to rural Gilman area 40 years ago. He then farmed in the Town of Taft until retiring in 1969. He has been a patient at the Nursing Home since December 1970.

He is survived by three sons, Melvin of Eau Claire,; Lavern and Harold of Minneapolis; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Gladys) Svendal of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, four sisters, and three brothers.

Funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p.m. Burial was made in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Gilman.
