Mr. and Mrs. John C. Maier will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, June 29, 1971 with an 11:30 Mass at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, and an Open House reception from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Thorp Legion Hall, hosted by their 8 children: Edmund of Thorp; Mrs. Frank Sonnentag (Margaret) of Greenwood; Mrs. Donald Barton (Mercedes) and Gerald of Eau Claire; Norman and John Jr. of Milwaukee; Leonard of Great Falls, Montana, and Kenneth of Green Bay.

The Maier's were married June 21 1921 at St. Francis Church, Hollantown, Wisconsin. They farmed in the Thorp area until retirement in 1967. They have 26 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited. No cards are being sent.
