Wissell, Grace E. (26 AUG 1929 – 14 AUG 2018)
Grace E. Wissell, 88, Prescott Valley, Ariz., was called home to our Lord on
Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018, following complications after surgery. A celebration of
life and interment, with her dear Charles, will take place in Hebron, Ill., at a
date to be determined.
Grace Ellen Bottlemy was born on Aug. 26, 1929, in Alden, Ill., to Elmer and
Olive Bottlemy. Grace and her husband, Charles Wissell, were wed on Oct. 8,
1949, and were married for 64 wonderful years. For 45 years they owned and
operated dairy farms in Illinois and Wisconsin, under the name of Wynn-Ellen
Farms. Grace worked for 12 years at Figi’s in Marshfield. In 1996, Grace and
Charles semi-retired to Arizona, and managed a horse ranch north of Prescott for
six years. Following their move to Prescott Valley in 2002, Grace worked at
Walmart. Grace was best known as a loving mother, and (great) grandmother. She
was an avid reader and loved cooking, baking, a good card game, and raising
animals. Grace adored being surrounded by family, and was greatly loved by all
who knew her.
She will be dearly missed, but will live on in the memories of those who loved
her. Grace is survived by her eight children: Peggy (Dennis) Beaver, Timothy
Wissell, Kay (Patrick) Weaver, Jack Wissell, LA (Kevin) Burnett, Mary (Gary)
Rindfleisch, Janice Wissell and William (Debbie) Wissell; 18 grandchildren; and
four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her loving husband,
Charles; and her grandson, Justin Rohde.
In lieu of any gifts, the family requests donations be made to: Hospice of the
Valley/Ryan House, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
