Moore, Rosy (Drafahl) (* JUN 1926 - 15 AUG 2018)
Rosy Moore, 92, fell asleep in death on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018.
She was a resident of the Ladysmith Care Community in Ladysmith where she
enjoyed various levels of quality care during the last five years.
Rosy was born in June 1926 in Reliance, S.D. She was the ninth of 13 children
born to Fred and Carolina Drafahl. She grew up on the family farm and attended
school in Reliance.
She married Donald Moore of Chamberlain, S.D. in 1945 and moved with him to
Custer, S.D. a year later. She worked at a few odd jobs, but spent most of her
energy being a rancher's wife and helping operate the couple's sawmill. In 1963
the couple, along with their daughter, moved to Wilton, where Rosy helped her
husband on a beef farm.
In 1974 the family moved to another farm near Neillsville. Her husband passed
away there in 1998. A year later she moved to Ladysmith to live near her
daughter.
Rosy enjoyed household duties, as well as gardening. Sewing and embroidering
were her wintertime hobbies. She was also a masterful letter writer. Those on
the receiving end always enjoyed hearing from her. At the age of 30 she
dedicated her life to Jehovah God and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses, being
an active member of the congregation in every community in
which she lived. She enjoyed volunteering time to share her future hope of
living eternally in an earthly Paradise.
Rosy is survived by her daughter, Dianna (Earl) Soviak of Ladysmith and her only
grandson, Marshall Soviak (Beth) of New Richmond. She has one surviving sibling,
her brother Frank (Nancy) Drafahl of Wyoming, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The rest of her immediate family preceded her in death.
A private graveside service will be held at a future date.
Nash-Jackan Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
