Slobodnik, Dolores A. (Stangret) (25 MAR 1937 - 13 AUG 2018)

Dolores A. Slobodnik, age 81, of Withee, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Country Terrace in Stanley.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Father Baskaran Sandhiyagu will officiate. Interment will follow at Maplehurst Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church.

Dolores was born on March 25, 1937 the daughter of Casper and Anna (Paul) Stangret in Stanley. She graduated from Stanley High School. On October 15, 1955, Dolores was united in marriage to Richard Slobodnik in Stanley. They moved to Chicago for eight years where she worked as a draftsmen. In 1965, they moved back to Withee and Dolores worked as a CNA at Colonial Center in Colby and for Clark County.

Dolores was a member of the Lublin American Legion Auxiliary Unit #547. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, sewing and entertaining family and friends. Dolores especially cherished her family.

Dolores is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dick; four children: Randy of Hartland, Bruce (Debbie) of Chisholm, MN, John of Wausau and Julie (Steve) Christopherson of Owen; four grandchildren: Nicolette Slobodnik, Samantha (Andrew) Barabe, Orion (Ariel) Slobodnik and Jared Jensen and five great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Carol Bourget of Stanley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David Stangret; her daughter, Roxanne Kay and her granddaughter, Jesse Jensen.
