The Cornell School Board likes the idea of consolidation with the Gilman School
District if it provides more educational opportunities for the students and the
move leaves both schools looking similar to their current configuration.
The Cornell School Board held a public listening session in its high school
cafeteria Monday evening as 32 people came out to learn about the board’s
feelings and to express their own opinions on the issue. The one hour, 45 minute
session showed public interest in what the Cornell board dubs an administrative
consolidation.
The Cornell and Gilman school boards will hold a joint meeting August 19 at 7
p.m. at the Gilman school to consider the next steps in a possible consolidation
study.
