A colorful midway, entertaining grandstand show, attractive commercial and youth
displays, a full cattle show, boosted by ideal fair weather, combined to produce
record crowds at Taylor county fairgrounds Thursday through Sunday.
The Taylor County Youth Fair, in addition to being an entertainment success,
also will have operated in the black, according to initial report from fair
treasurer Frank Krueger, Medford.
Attendance has been estimated at 12,000, about 2,000 more than the previous
record. It is anticipated that the youth fair will clear about $800 after all
expenses have been turned in and bills paid.
