Simek, Joseph “Joe” (27 MAR 1948 - 28 JUL 2018)
Joseph “Joe” Simek, passed away from a long-term illness on Saturday, July 28,
2018.
Per his request, no funeral service will be held and he has been interred at Oak
View Cemetery, Brentwood, CA, east of San Francisco. A private, family only,
memorial service will be held at a later date.
Joe was born on March 27, 1948, the son of Joe “Pep” and Frances Simek, the
creators of Tombstone Pizza. Joe joined the Coast Guard in 1967 and served
aboard as an ice breaker in Alaska and as a communications officer in Galveston,
TX. After service, he joined the team at Tombstone Pizza and worked in the docks
and then became a product salesman for conventions in the Wisconsin and
surrounding areas until the business was sold in 1987.
He then lived in Phoenix, AZ for 10 years, thereafter living in San Diego CA and
San Francisco, CA until his passing. Joe raveled the world and visited over 100
counties of the past 30 years.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 18 years, Donna, a brother, Richard of Tucson,
AZ, and a sister Lauren (Peggy) Simek of Green Bay.
