Beighley, Glenda Mae (Ommen) Hetchler (7 MAY 1936 - 17 AUG 2018)

Glenda Mae Beighley, 82, Holcombe, went to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 17, 2018, in the comfort of her own home.

Glenda was born May 7, 1936, in Slayton, Minn., the daughter of Wilbur and Fern (Rachuy) Ommen.

She was united in marriage to Con F. Hetchler March 2, 1954, and together, had three children; they later separated. She was remarried to Gerald Beighley Sept. 18, 1982, and were together until his passing April 6, 2006.

Glenda really enjoyed company, and visiting with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. When she wasn’t visiting, you could find her staying busy with yard work or cleaning house – not just her house, but anyone’s who would let her.

She also had a love for music, and together, with her daughter, Deb, formed their band, The Echoes. They enjoyed performing their country and gospel music at various venues, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities and churches.

She is survived by her three children – Shelly (Mike) Schulner, New Auburn, Debby (Roger) Thieling, Moose Lake, Minn., and Randy Hetchler of Holcombe; grandchildren – Jake (Kari) Hetchler, Tucker (Kelsey Selvig) Hetchler, Tanner (Josie) Schulner, Jayme Schulner, Kaleb Schulner and Brittni (Tyler) Brown; great-grandchildren – Macy Mae Hetchler, Owen Carvell, Sutter Brown and Lyla Mae Brown; one brother – Marlo Ommen; nieces and nephews; and Con Hetchler.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one sister – Lila Strickland.

A celebration of life in memory of Glenda will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 24, at Keystone New Life Alliance Church in Cornell, with Pastors Jim Brandli and Robert Igarta officiating. Inurnment will be at the Cornell Cemetery following the service.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m., until the time of service Friday, Aug. 24, at the church.
