Biter, Monica J. (Apfelbeck) (30 MAR 1934 - 19 AUG 2018)
Monica J. Biter, age 84, of New Auburn, formerly of Colby, passed away on
Sunday, August 19, 2018 at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 6,
2018 at Saint Mary Help of Christian Parish in Colby. Father Joseph Redfern will
officiate. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Family and friends are
welcome from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church.
Monica was born on March 30, 1934, the daughter of Leo and Hildegard (Ohlinger)
Apfelbeck, Sr. in Colby. She graduated from Colby High School in 1952. Monica
moved to Chicago where she worked many years at Honeywell. In 1996, she moved to
the New Auburn area.
Monica enjoyed painting, gardening, especially her flowers and bird watching.
She was the nicest person anyone could have met and her smile could light up any
room.
Monica is survived by her son, Jeff (Carolyn) Biter of Sebring, FL; two
granddaughters: Cecelia (Mark) Alley and Julia Wry, both of Sebring, FL; her
sister, Genevieve "Genny" Abegglen of Stetsonville; many nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings: Pearl, Leo, Jr.,
Teresa, John, Stella, Mildred, Adeline, Mary, Francis and Joseph.
