Lampi, Donald R. (25 MAR 1940 - 31 AUG 2018)
Donald R. Lampi, age 78 of Abbotsford, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 at
the Clark County Rehab and Living Center in Owen.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Christ
Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. Reverend Don Bruce will officiate. Burial will
take at the Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Visitation for family and friends will
be on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the church.
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the
arrangements.
Donald was born on March 25, 1940 in Owen the son of Matt O. and Olive (Jacobi)
Lampi. He attended Owen schools and was a 1958 graduate of Owen-Withee High
School. His marriage to Karen Kay Lindgren took place on September 26, 1959 at
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood. Don was a heavy equipment/operating
engineer for a number of years and farmed on the side.
Don liked to mow grass, planting flowers and gardening, growing sunflowers and
giant pumpkins. He had a John Deere collection and enjoyed reading anything from
farm magazines to newspapers. Don loved feeding birds, chippies, deer and
wildlife and enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and driving his tractors, truck
and heavy equipment. Don was proud of his work for Union Local 150 for 50 years.
He especially loved family and friends and enjoyed having everyone around,
joking, laughing and smiling.
Don is survived by his loving wife Karen Lampi, children: Matt D. (Jean) Lampi,
Donna (Curt) Ford, Bryan S. (Marla) Lampi and Tina Lampi, grandchildren: Kathryn
A. Lampi, Donald M. Lampi, Dylan J. Lampi and Ryan T. Lampi. He is further
survived by his siblings: Marlene Roberts, Glenn Lampi and Charlotte Miller.
