Sauer, Patricia (26 JUN 1971)
St. Hedwig's Chapel, Thorp, was the scene for the marriage of Miss Patricia
Sauer and Keith A. Raven on Saturday, June 26, 1971. Father William Matzek
performed the 2:00 p.m. ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur H. Sauer, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.)
and Mrs. Robert Raven, Thorp.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length empire styled
bridal gown of imported organza, featuring cavalier shaped sleeves and a
mandarin neckline. Narrow bands of Valance ruffles, small soft baby blue bows
traced the Princess silhouette sweeping into a windswept chapel train. Her
bouffant veil of sheer bridal illusion secured a profile of sheer petals
accented with pearls. The bride carried a cascade of white daisies mixed with
miniature carnations tipped in baby blue.
Miss Carol Sauer was the maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Darlene Sauer, Sue
Raven and Terry LaGasse. They wore floor length dresses of turquoise printed
voile fashioned with baby doll sleeves, mandarin neckline and deep ruffle at the
hemline. White cluny lace accented the empire styling. Harmonizing veils secured
a profile of looped bows. Each carried baskets of turquoise and white daisies.
Attending the groom was Wayne Raven as best man, and groomsmen were Richard
Tobola, Jim Papierniak and Michael Sauer.
A reception and dinner followed the ceremony at St. Hedwig's Quonset Hall,
Thorp, with a dance beginning at 8:00 p.m. Out of town guests were from West
Bend, Milwaukee, Bloomer, Owen, Stanley, Chippewa Falls, Neshkoro, Adell,
Hartford, Kewaskum, Eau Claire, Newburg, Phoenix, Arizona., St. Paul, Minnesota.
Miss Sauer was a 1969 graduate of Thorp High School, and a graduate of
Accredited School of Beauty Culture, Eau Claire. Mr. Raven was a 1968 graduate
of Thorp High School, and a graduate of the 1970 Barber Class of Eau Claire
Vocational and Technical Institute.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith A. Raven will make their home at route 3, Hayward, Wisconsin.
