George Broughton, 95, Stanley, died Friday morning at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.

He was born in Nebraska in 1880 and moved to Clark County in 1900. He moved to Stanley in 1917 and had lived there since. He married Louis Pekech in 1952 in Stanley.

Funeral services were at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Plombon Funeral Home, with the Reverend David Fuller officiating. Burial was in Worden German Cemetery, Thorp.

Survivors include his wife; one son, George, Eau Claire; three daughters, Mrs. Richard Harding, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Willard Fall, Sun Dance, Wyoming; and Mrs. John Shesel, Chippewa Falls; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward, Stockton, California.

Funeral services for George Broughton, 91, were held Sunday from the Plombon Funeral Home, the Rev. David Fuller officiating. Burial was in the East Worden Cemetery. Mrs. Susan Wisnewski and Anton Long provided the music. Pallbearers were John Schesel, Cecil Meeker, John Turner, Alfred Steivang, Carl Elmstedt, and Frank R. Burzynski.

Mr. Broughton, who died Friday at Victory Memorial Nursing Home, was born March 23, 1880 in Nebraska. He moved to the town of Worden in Clark County in 1900. In 1905 he was married to Cora Slone and they moved to the Stanley area in 1917. He was a retired farmer and businessman.
He was married to Louis(e) Pekech in 1952 and she survives as does one son, George V., Eau Claire; three daughters, Mrs. John (Clydie) Schesel, Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Willard (Margaret) Fall, Sundance WY, and Mrs Richard (Helen) Harding, Los Angeles, CA, one brother, Edward of Stockton, CA and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
