Prince, Phyllis R. (Molstad) Nanstad (21 JUL 1937 - 10 SEP 2018)
Phyllis R. Nanstad (Prince), age 81, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, passed away on
Monday, September 10, 2018, at Chippewa Manor in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
She was born on July 21, 1937, to the late Roy and Ruby (Davis) Molstad. Phyllis
was raised on a farm near Hegg in Trempealeau County, Wisconsin, graduating from
Blair High School in 1955. On September 22, 1956, she was united in marriage to
Allan Nanstad (who died in 2001). They lived in Owen, Mondovi and Lancaster,
Wisconsin, before moving to Eau Claire in 1967.
For over 30 years, she worked at UW-EC and also volunteered over five thousand
hours at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. Phyllis enjoyed traveling to
Norway, Europe and on many bus tours. Phyllis married John Prince on November
29, 2014.
Phyllis loved the friends she made over the years from her quilting group at
Spirit Lutheran Church, Republican Women, Antiquing friends, Bridge and 500,
Sons of Norway, Blugolds Basketball and the many friends at the lake.
She is survived by her husband, John Prince, and his family; son, Tom (JoAnn)
Nanstad of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; daughter, Diane Nanstad of Savage, Minnesota;
daughter-in-law, Teresa Nanstad and her family; grandchildren, Mallory (Ted)
Thompson, Kristina Walters, Tyler (Kortney) Nanstad, JD (Sarah) Nanstad, and
Erik Nanstad; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Rosalie Beaty; brother, Daniel
(Cyndi) Molstad; sister-in-law, Jeri Molstad; many nieces, nephews, other family
members and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Allan; son, David; and brother,
David Molstad.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Chippewa Manor and St. Joseph’s
Hospice for their wonderful care of Phyllis.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018, at Spirit
Lutheran Church with Reverend Jim Ahlquist officiating. Visitation will be from
5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home (off Golf Road one block
east of Hwy 93) and also one hour prior to service at church. Interment will be
in North Beaver Creek-First Cemetery in Ettrick, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be given in memory of
Phyllis to her favorite charities.
