Chu Lai, Vietnam, August 3, 1971 – Private First Class Robert A. Reynolds, 20,
son of Robert Reynolds Jr., 201 S. Broadway, Stanley (Chippewa Co., Wis.),
received the Army Commendation medal in Vietnam.
The medal was awarded for meritorious service. Such service can be over an
extended period of time, or for outstanding achievement in a single situation.
In either case, the recipient must have demonstrated skills and dedication far
above the average.
Pvt. Reynolds received the award while assigned as a rifleman in Company B, 1st
Battalion, 6th Infantry of the 23rd Infantry Division's 196th Infantry, near Chu
Lai.
His mother, Mrs. Christine Norris, lives at 205 S. Lemon, Azusa, California.
