Joan E. Noah, 88, Willard, peacefully passed away at Marshfield Medical Center

Joan Edith Herrick was born on Oct. 10, 1929, in Willard, to Jack and Anna (nee
Pintar) Herrick. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at
North Mound School. She married Cletus F. Susa on May 29, 1949, at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Willard. They purchased a farm in Greenwood and farmed until
1961. After selling the farm, they purchased and operated the White House Inn in
Willard. After their divorce, Joan worked several jobs, including as a nurse’s
aide at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville, at Nelson Muffler in
Neillsville, as a store clerk at the Farmer’s Store in Greenwood, as a cook for
the Greenwood School District, in the deli at the Neillsville IGA, and at Model
Laundry in Neillsville. She married Richard Noah on Aug. 29, 1970, in St. Paul,
Minn. They later divorced. Joan lived in Willard until entering Atrium
Post-Acute Care of Marshfield in January 2017. She had several interests, but
especially loved spending time with her family, reading, being on her computer,
and volunteering at The Highground in Neillsville. She had a great sense of
humor.
Joan will be dearly missed by her children: Gail (Rick) Houle of Crestview,
Fla., Randy (Ree) Susa of Willard, and Sheila (Vern) Kind of Neillsville; 10
grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters: Anna Petkovsek, Eva
Hollowell, Mary Stewart, Frances Murphy, Lucille Hawley and Donna Smith; and six
brothers: Joe, Jack, Florian, Charles, Edward and Robert Herrick.
