Karlen, Doris J. (Woller) (22 NOV 1926 - 20 APR 2008)
Doris J. Karlen, 81, Edgar, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at her home, under the
care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born November 22, 1926 in Merrill, daughter of the late Emil and Hilda
(Goetsch) Woller. On May 11, 1946, she married Leonard J. Karlen at Holy Family
Catholic Church, Poniatowski. He survives.
Doris was a homemaker and farmed in the Poniatowski area for many years. She was
employed at Marathon Cheese for over 20 years until her retirement. Among her
many interests, she enjoyed reading, sending greeting cards to family and
friends, going out to eat and most of all, spending time with her family. She
was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church P.C.C.W.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard J. Karlen, Edgar; five children, Bonnie
(David) Kaiser, Edgar, Michael (Rhonda) Karlen, Tomahawk, Ozzie (Cynthia)
Karlen, Edgar, Denise (Verne) Johnson, Roach, Mo. and Tim (Tracey) Karlen,
Edgar; 26 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren, with two more on the way; three
sisters, Juanita Schepp, Wausau, Floretta Schwartz, Green Bay and Jean (Frank)
Rusch, Merrill; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela
Marzynski; one son, Russell Karlen; two grandchildren, Betsy and Charity; and
two great grandchildren, T.J. and Blake.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at
Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. The Very Reverend Charles Hiebl and
Rev. Barnabas Kyea will co-preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
The family would like to thank all of the family, friends and caregivers who
helped brighten her day.
