Devine, Robert “Bob” (8 JAN 1929 - 25 SEP 2018)

Robert “Bob” Devine, age 89 of Withee, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

His funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Father Baskaran Sandhiyagu will officiate. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Full military rites will be conducted by the Owen American Legion Post #123, Lublin American Legion Post #547 and the O-W Vets Club. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until the time of service at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.

Bob was born on January 8, 1929 the son of James and Ida (Vander Wegen) Devine. He graduated from Withee High School. Bob served his country by enlisting in the US Army and served during the Korean War. Robert and Roberta Strathman were united in marriage on August 16, 1955 in La Crosse, WI. They raised their family and operated a farm in the Town of Longwood until 1989, when they sold the farm and moved to the Village of Withee.

Bob was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He enjoyed painting pictures, watching the Chicago Cubs and the Packers, he always watched sports on TV, he loved to garden, feed the birds, listen to Irish music, visit the casinos and he looked forward to his Friday lunch dates at Cozy Corner in Owen. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Bob is lovingly survived by his children: Lynn (Ken) Smith of Maple Grove, MN, Pam Devine of Tomahawk, Connie (Bob) Vesely of Wausau, Keri (Michael) Devine of Amery, John Devine of Withee and Jay Devine of Owen. He is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, brothers, Burt Devine, Ted (Maryann) Devine and Tom (Sandy) Devine, sisters, Janice (Lyle) Johnson and Kay (Jack) Parker.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Roberta on Aug. 26, 2011, grandson; Travis Pawlak, brothers; Bill, Pete, Pat, Dan, Mike and Dave Devine and sisters; Marilyn Brey and Theresa Pawlak.
