St. Hedwig’s Catholic Chapel was the setting for the marriage of Bonnie Lou Hodorowski and Spec. 4 Robert Wampole on Saturday, October 23, 1971 at 1:00 p.m. The Revered William Grelle performed the double ring nuptial ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hodorowski Sr., route 1, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Adelbert Wampole, route 1, Fairchild.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor length gown of white velvet. The standup color, cuffs, bodice, and train were trimmed with bands of tiny seed pearls. Her long triple tiered veil with embroidered rose appliques was attached to a crown of white roses. She carried a long bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

The bride made her own dress and veil, the miniature bride’s dress and veil, and the dress and tiaras of her bridesmaids.

Mrs. Kathy Williams, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were: Miss Arlene Speath, cousin of the bride, and Miss Barbara Zimmerman and Mrs. Lynn Parkhurst, cousins of the groom. They all wore royal blue velvet empire waist dresses, with white crepe bodice with silver trim on their standup collars, cuffs, and bodices. They wore matching tiaras of nylon net and royal blue velvet bows. They carried colonial bouquets of royal blue tipped white carnations with ribbon streamers.

Little Judy Williams, niece of the bride, was miniature bride, and carried a miniature bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Best man was Rollin Williams brother-in-law of the bride, and groomsmen were: John Wampole, brother of the groom, Harry Hodorowski Jr., brother of the bride, Allen Parkhurst, cousin of the groom. Miniature groom was Timmy Chmelik, cousin of the bride. The groom and his attendants were attire in white tuxedo jackets, ruffle front shirts, and black bow ties and trousers. The groom and miniature groom wore red rose boutonnieres and the attendants wore royal blue tipped carnations.

Ushers were Donald Hodorowski, cousin of the bride, and Jerry Wampole, brother of the groom.

A reception was held from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Hedwig’s Quonset Hall, and a dance from 8:00 to 12:00 a.m. was attended by relatives and friends, with music by the Polish Troubadours.

The newlyweds left on a honeymoon trip to Colorado, where the groom will be stationed at Fort Carson, and they will make their home near there.
