Urbas, Raymond S. (22 SEP 1932 – 29 AUG 2018)
Raymond Stanley Urbas, age 85, of Rice Lake, WI, died Wednesday, August 29,
2018, at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Raymond was born on September 22, 1932, in the Town of Taft, WI to Stanley and
Olga (Symbal) Urbas. Raymond graduated from the Thorp High School and then
entered the United States Air Force in 1951 and was honorably discharged in
1955. He attended UW-Eau Claire with a bachelor's degree in Education and then
received his master's degree in School Psychology. Raymond was a high school
English teacher, a school psychologist and was a teacher trainer in the area of
dyslexia.
He loved camping, traveling, hunting, fishing and rehabbing house projects.
Raymond had a special place in his heart for his pets, his dogs,
Raymond Urbas is survived by his significant other, Bonnie Boyer of Rice Lake,
WI; two daughters: Lani Urbas (Shirley Wickersham) of Waterloo, WI and Susan
(Kevin) Williamson Of Boise, ID; four grandchildren: Simon Dettinger, Catherine
Urbas, Emma Urbas and Connor Williamson; three siblings: Donald , Urbas of
Chippewa Falls, WI, Patricia (George) Cohen of Mims, FL and Stanley (Laurie)
Urbas of Seabeck, WA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Stanley and Olga Urbas.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2018, at the
Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spooner, WI where Military
Rites will be accorded by the Rice Lake Veterans Center Honor Guard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Appleyard's Home for Funerals,
19 W. Messenger St., Rice Lake, WI.
