Balciar, Joyce (Rochester) (24 FEB 1943 - 1 OCT 2018)
Joyce Balciar, 75, of Medford, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at
Colonial Care Center in Colby.
She was born on February 24, 1943 to Josie and Dora (Greer) Rochester. She
attended Gilman area school. She married Carl Balciar on June 24, 1967; he
preceded her in death in 2003.
She worked most of her life as a homemaker, but spent a few years as a CNA at
the Taylor County Memorial Healthcare Center. In her spare time she enjoyed
gardening, cats and dogs, nature, watching birds, and spending time with her
grandchildren. She was a long time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Steve (Maranda) Balciar and Joe (Sheryl) Balciar,
both of Medford, and Josh (Morgan) Balciar of Hudson; grandchildren, Cassidy,
Brayden, Jackson, Kaelynn, and Samantha Balciar; sister, Joleen Boss. She is
further survived by many other family and friends.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will take place at
11:00 AM on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Hemer Funeral Home – Medford Chapel with
Pastor Nancy Amacher officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, October
5, 2018 at Hemer Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00
AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Joyce’s name may be giving to the
Taylor County Humane Society.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with
arrangements.
