Debora A. “Debbie,” Beyerl, 61, Colby, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at Dycora Transitional Living in Abbotsford.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, at Saint Mary Help of Christian Parish in Colby. Interment will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church.

Debora A. “Debbie” Beyerl, age 61, of Colby, joined her heavenly father on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on August 21, 1957, to Robert and Elisabeth (Cook) DeBaets in Milwaukee. She attended Custer High School and graduated in 1975. Debbie attended the UW-River Falls where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture in 1979.

Debbie was united in marriage with John Beyerl on June 24, 1978, in Lyndon Station. In 1979, they returned to the Beyerl family farm where they raised a family and farmed for nearly 40-years.

Debbie loved and adored her children and was proud of their accomplishments. She enjoyed the companionship of her pets, GiGi, Sasha, and CoCo. She had a passion for her vegetable garden, beautiful flower beds, cooking, baking, horseback riding, live music and dancing. Debbie could light up any room with her smile and infectious personality. She would always offer a helping hand with a big heart and a generous soul.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband, John; five children: Jennifer (Nathan) Thums of Wausau, Julie Beyerl of Stevens Point, John (Neshe) Beyerl of Madison, Jared Beyerl of Dubuque, IA, and James Beyerl of Oconto; two granddaughters: Harper Thums and Raina Beyerl; her mother, Elisabeth DeBaets, and brother, Dean DeBaets of Oregon, OH; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert DeBaets.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Saint Mary Help of Christian Parish in Colby, Father Timothy Oudenhoven will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church.
