Wilichowski, Dorothy (Bloch) (9 NOV 1936 - 24 JUN 2017)
Dorothy Wilichowski, 80, Marathon, died Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Ministry St.
Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
She was born November 9, 1936 in Green Lake, daughter of the late Gus and Eva (Walkush)
Bloch. On October 10, 1959, she married Ruffin Wilichowski in Wausau.
Survivors include her husband, Ruffin, Marathon; daughters, Carleen (Timothy)
Arland, Minnesota, Carla (Gary) Olinger, Minnesota and Jill Browne, New Mexico;
grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Arland, Leif and Natalie Olinger, Lauren and Anna
Browne; twin brother, David (Shirley) Bloch, Coleman; sister, Patti (Les)
Polette, California.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Allan and
Timothy.
Dorothy and Ruffin owned a dairy farm and also raised ginseng and mink. She
enjoyed all aspects of country living. Dorothy was known for her outstanding
cooking and baking, especially her pies. Upon retirement, she and Ruffin
appreciated traveling together. Her children and grandchildren spent many
wondrous times together. Volunteering at the monastery, funeral luncheons and
serving communion gave her great joy. Dorothy was tireless in her efforts in
helping others.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at St.
Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial
will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, town of Cassel. Visitation will be Wednesday
from 12:00 Noon until the time of services all at St. Mary Catholic Church,
Marathon.
