Losiewicz, Marilyn Phyllis (6 NOV 1971)
Miss Marilyn Phyllis Losiewicz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Losiewicz, Thorp
(Clark Co., Wis.), was given in in marriage by her father to Garry John Eckes,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Eckes, Marshfield, on Saturday, November 6, 1971, at
St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp. Father John Puerner performed the 1:30 p.m.
marriage ceremony. Miss Vicki Sluzewski was soloist, with Sister Joan as
organist.
The bride wore a Peau de Soie and re-embroidered lace styled gown with high
neckline, bishop sleeves and princes fitted styling detachable chapel train. A
lace profile headpiece with pearl trim held her cathedral length veil with two
rows of re-embroidered lace on edge, and she carried a cascade bouquet of yellow
roses and yellow tipped carnations.
Miss Ardis Schmidt, Thorp, was maid of honor, and Cindy Losiewicz was junior
bridesmaid, with Miss Jeanette Grubs, Miss Rose Ann Stachnik, and Miss Debbie
Eckes as bridesmaids. They wore floor length gowns of mortar clay with lace
bodice, high neckline, long lace sleeves, moss satin belt and bow, and
mini-georgette slightly gathered skirts. Each carried bouquets of yellow, gold,
and bronze pompoms.
Ronald Eckes, Marshfield, was best man, and Earl Eckes, David Losiewicz, and
Mike Martin were groomsmen. Ushers were Robert Romanowski and Charlie Peterson.
A reception and wedding dinner were held at St. Hedwig's Quonset Hall, Thorp.
The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School, and a 1971 graduate of St.
Joseph's School of Nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at St.
Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. The groom is a 1967 graduate of Marshfield Senior
High, and was in the U.S. Navy from 1968 – 1970. He is presently attending
Mid-State Vocational School in Wisconsin Rapids.
After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, they will make their home at 101 E.
Blodgett, Marshfield.
