An Open House will be held on Sunday, November 30, 1971 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at
St. Bernard's Parish Hall, Thorp, in honor of Mrs. Delia Telford's 90th
birthday.
Mrs. Telford is a lifelong resident of the Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) area. She was
born December 4, 1881, the daughter of Jerry and Delila Asselin. She had six
brothers, Jerry, Albert, Edward, Layton, Gilbert and Freddy, and one sister,
Edna. Edward, Gilbert and Layton are still living.
She was married to Robert Telford on October 22, 1899, and they farmed in the
town of Reseburg until 1943, when they moved to her present home in Thorp. Mr.
Telford passed away August 18, 1963.
They had three sons, George, who lives on Route 1, Owen, and Vilas and Raymond,
who are deceased. There are 11 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 6
great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Telford is still remarkably active, as she lives alone and keeps her own
home, besides working out occasionally doing light homework. She enjoys company
and still cooks large dinners for her guests. She has a garden and does canning,
sewing and knitting.
Mrs. Telford request that no gifts be given.
