Zenner, Melvin J. (11 MAR 1928 - 7 OCT 2018)

Melvin J. Zenner, 90, of Medford, Town of Hammel resident, passed away Sunday October 7, 2018 at the Aspirus Medford Hospital.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial mass will take place at 11:00 AM, Thursday October 11, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Father Phil Juza will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held that morning at church from 9:30 AM until the time of mass at 11:00.

He was born March 11, 1928 in his family farmstead home in the Town of Hammel to Joseph and Laura (Federspeil) Zenner. He attended the Town of Cleveland Schools. Melvin married Geraldine M. Kalmon on August 16, 1949 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Geraldine survives.

Melvin is further survived by his Son: Joseph (Renee) Zenner of Medford, Grandsons: Melvin “MJ” (Brittany) Zenner, Alex (Katie) Zenner both of Medford, Benjamin Zenner of Wausau, Granddaughter: Joelle Zenner of Medford, Great Grandsons Mason and Garrett Zenner, and one Niece: JoAnn (Delmar) Smith of Medford.

He is preceded in death by his Parents and Sister Leona Hadderman.

Melvin owned and operated his dairy farm in the Town of Hammel for his entire life. He had a passion for mechanics and machinery. He was a collector of John Deere 2 cylinder tractors. He enjoyed traveling to Montana to visit family and help with their wheat farms. He enjoyed running their farm machinery, as it was bigger than his equipment. He loved listening to polka music, and socializing, especially over a game of cards.

He was of the Catholic Faith, and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Memorial donations in honor of Melvin can be given to the Holy Rosary Catholic School.

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with arrangements.
