Maier, Deborah (2 OCT 1971)

Miss Deborah J. Maier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Maier of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Dale F. Olson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Olson of Greenwood (Clark Co.), on October 2, 1971 at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp. Reverend John Puerner officiated at the 2 p.m. nuptial mass, assisted by altar boys, Terry Maier, brother of the bride, and Damien Connolly. Offertory was carried by the bride's Godparents, Adeline Sorlie and Donald Borton.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length Chantilly lace bridal gown styled with long bishop sleeves and a high neckline with sequin trim. The bouffant skirt featured tiers of lace cascading into a cathedral length train. An imported floral garland held her bouffant sheer illusion veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of tangerine roses, white spider mums, stephanotis, and baby's breath.

The bridesmaids wore identically styled floor length gowns of different fall hues, featuring self-ruffle neckline, mock vest, velvet bodice in a darker shade than the skirt, with floral embroidery trim, long sheer lseeves and a full gathered skirt of chiffon over taffeta. They wore bronze mums in their hair. All wore shoes the color of their dresses.

Matron of honor was Mrs. Roger Konieczny, sister of the bride, dressed in green. Bridesmaids were Sherri Olson, sister of the groom, in orange, Carolyn Zajack, friend of the bride, in brown; and Cynthia Maier, sister of the bride, in gold. They carried colonial bouquets of gold and bronze mums, winter wheat, and baby's breath, accented with dark brown ribbons streamers. Noreen Maier, sister of the bride, was miniature bridesmaid, dressed in green, identical to the matron of honor. She carried a basket of flowers the same as the bridesmaids.

Roger Konieczny, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man. Other groomsmen were: Randy Hendrickson, friend of the groom, Larry Maier, brother of the bride, and Steve Olson, nephew of the groom. Scott Abbot, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

Ushers were Ralph Maier, brother of the bride, and Mike Olson, nephew of the groom.

The bride's mother wore a purple dress, trimmed in silver sequins, with silver accessories. The groom's mother wore a purple suit with black accessories.

The reception and dance were held at St. Hedwig's Quonset Hall. Mrs. Jeanette Milewski was hostess.

After a wedding trip to Canada the couple now reside in the Withee Trailer Court.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and is employed as a cashier at the Thorp Finance Loan office in Thorp. The groom is a graduate of Greenwood High School and is employed by Dave Haas of Thorp.
