Jaskot, Sophie (15 MAY 1883 – 8 DEC 1971)
Sophie Jaskot, 88, died on Wednesday evening, December 8, 1971at Victory
Memorial Hospital, Stanley. She was born May 15, 1883 in Poland and went to
Donors, Pennsylvania. In 1905 she was married to John Jaskot, and they lived
there five years. They then bought a farm in the Thorp area (Clark Co., Wis.),
Tow of Withee, where she lived most of her life, and then moved to the City of
Thorp. She stayed at the Stanley Nursing Home a little over a year.
Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig's Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday,
December 11, 1971, with Father John Puerner officiating. Burial was made in St.
Hedwig's Old Cemetery.
Mrs. Jaskot is survived by two sons, Stanley, Grayslake, Illinois, and Leonard,
Janesville, Wisconsin; seven daughters, Marie Janis, Berwyn, Illinois, (Helen)
Mrs. Frank Pletke, Berwyn, (Estelle) Mrs. Edward Duch, Berwyn, (Martha) Mrs.
Gene Prorok, Round Lake, Illinois, (Eleonor) Mrs. Len Sierocinski, Chicago,
Illinois, (Adelyn) Mrs. Mitch Sosnicki, Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin, (Anne) Mrs.
Frank Kroll, Thorp; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister,
Mrs. Jacob Hudzik, New Jersey.
Her husband and one son preceded her in death.
