Eugene R. Witek, son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Witek, route 1, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), was a candidate for a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.

While a student at La Crosse, Witek earned a letter in track 2 years, in the Letterman's Club, a member of the Intramural and Recreational Activities Board, Recreation Committee, and American College Union Tournaments Director.

The seven mid-year commencement ceremony was held in Mitchell Hall Friday, December 17, 1971. President Kenneth Lindner conferred 271 Bachelor's degrees and 27 Master's degrees.
