Frenette, August J. (13 MAY 1908 – 24 JAN 1972)
August J. Frenette, age 63, of 5 North Prairie, Chippewa Falls, passed away
January 24, 1972 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born May 13, 1908 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Joseph Frenette and
Christina Felix. He was a lifetime resident, attending Notre Dame Grade School
and McDonnell High School. On April 15, 1931 he was married to Myrtle Johnson at
Notre Dame Church. He was employed at the Chippewa Shoe Company for 30 years,
and had also played in "The Biggest Little Band" since 1931. He was a member of
the Musicians Union and Boot and Shoe Workers Union, and also a member of Notre
Dame Church.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, two sons, Joseph J. of Eau Claire, and
Robert B. Stationed with the Air Force in Saudi Arabia; one daughter, Mrs. Henry
(Jacquelyn) Bertrand of Chippewa Falls; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Claude
of Chippewa Falls and Bernard of Thorp; three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Blanche) Lea
of route 4, Chippewa Falls, Mrs. John (Marguerite) Larkowski of Denver,
Colorado, and Sister Lorraine Felix, S.S.N.D. of Greensville, Wisconsin. He was
preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, William, Louis, Eugene, Felix
and John Frenette, and one sister, Mrs. Angeline Connell.
