Ruud, Luella M. (Newbury) (7 NOV 1924 - 15 OCT 2018)

Luella M. Ruud, 93, Park Falls, died on Monday, October 15, 2018, at the Park Manor Nursing Home, Park Falls.

She was born on November 7, 1924, in Phillips, the daughter of William and Tressie (Seitz) Newbury. She spent her early and schooling in Phillips. She was married to John Alfred Ruud in 1958. He preceded her in death in 1981.

Throughout her life she did child care for her family, worked at the former Louie’s Cafe, and then as a cook at Westwood Golf Course in Phillips. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, embroidering, soap operas and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her 4 children: Ken (Phyllis) Boho, St. Cloud, Fla., Gary (Debra) Ruud, Judy (Dave) Kelnhofer, and Louis Ruud, all of Park Falls, 2 Step Children: Kay (Richard) Hanish, Nekoosa, and John (Diane) Ruud, Prentice, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Julia LaRose, Alice Collins, Cora Flynn, and Tillie Ruud, by 4 brothers: William, Sonny, Henry, and Harry Newbury and by 4 Step Children: Robert, Keith and Gordon Ruud, and Carol Smith.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, with Pastor Glenn Sokolowski of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery, Phillips.

Friends may call on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the Heindl Funeal Home, Phillips.

The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
