The Rev. F.H. Sprengler witnessed the exchange of marriage vows between Miss
Beverly Jean Underwood of Chicago and Richard Leonard Felstead of Stone Park,
Illinois, Saturday, July 5, 1969 at Christ Lutheran Church at Abbotsford.
Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Leo Underwood of Abbotsford (Clark
Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Leoanrd Felstead of Sandwich, Illinois.
Mr. Underwood presented his daughter in marriage at the two o'clock nuptial
service, at which Miss Julene Radlinger was the soloist and Ronald Boss was the
organist.
The bride was attired in an empire styled floor length gown of organza over peau
de soie, with lace appliques and a chapel length lace mantilla attached to a
lace and seed pearl headpiece. A white orchid centered the cascade bouquet of
yellow roses and white daisies.
Floor length peach chiffon formals in empire waist lines were worn by the
bride's attendants. The carried bouquets of green tinted daisies.
For her maid of honor, the bride had her sister, Miss Susan Underwood of West
Allis. For her bridesmaids she had another sister, Mrs. Adolph Becherer, also of
West Allis, Miss Joan Felstead of Sandwich, and Miss Patsy Lapp of Chicago.
Tom Felstead of Sandwich was his brother's best man, and Adolph Becherer of West
Allis, Curt Ovit of Somanauk, and Tom Wall of Sandwich were groomsmen.
Performing the ushering duties were David Decker of Aurora and Bob Schneider of
Chicago.
Festivities of the wedding day included a reception at the Abbotsford City Hall,
a 5 p.m. dinner at the church hall, and a wedding dance at the Sportsmen's Park
in Colby.
The bride is a 1966 graduate of Abbotsford High School and is employed in the
office of Nestle Company in Chicago. Her husband is a 1961 graduate of Sandwich
High School and is an electronic technician for Motorola in Chicago.
They are making their home at 1636 N. 40th Ave, Stone Park, Illinois.
Guests at the wedding were from Dorchester, Colby, Athens, Granton, West Allis,
Milwaukee, Sandwich, Chicago, Lockport, Aurora, Bellwood, Richton Park, Plano,
Somanauk, Bridgeview, Illinois, Zion Indiana, California and Nebraska.
