Gottlieb (Cemetery listing says Gautlieb; obit said Gotthilf) Isler, 83, died
July 4, 1969 at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen, where he was a resident for a
short time. Funeral services were conducted at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home
in Owen, and interment was made in Riverside Cemetery at Withee.
Mr. Isler was born in Switzerland on November 14, 1885, and came to the United
States when he was 17. He farmed in the town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.). His
first marriage took place in 1919. His wife, the former Eva Schiller, died in
1925. In 1929 he and Effie Lee were married. They farmed until 1965 and came to
Abbotsford to live. Mrs. Isler died in 1966. The past few years Mr. Isler lived
with his son, Gottfried on route 1, Withee.
He is survived by two sons, Alfred of Seattle, Washington, and Gottfried of
route 1, Withee, and two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Tillie) Buss of route 1, Withee,
and Mrs. Sam (Mary) Davenport of Middleton. There are 17 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by one brother, Otto Isler, of route 1, Withee.
