Kalina, Brenda (Marriage – 3(?) May 1975)
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gates, who are making their home in Merrillan, were married
in ceremonies performed by the Rev. Joseph Marx at Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church in Alma Center.
The former Miss Brenda Kalina, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin
Kalina of Merrillan. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gates, Black
River Falls.
Miss Vicki Anger, Merrillan, was the maid of honor and Barb Wangress, Linda
Opelt, (niece of the groom) and Jean Haase were bridesmaids.
Serving as bestman was Dale Koranda, Black River Falls. Groomsmen were Hugh
Wildish, Marty Kalina (brother of the bride) and Greg McManners. Guests were
seated by Tim Gates, brother of the groom, and Steve Kalina, brother of the
bride.
A reception was held at the Neillsville American Legion Hall.
A 1971 graduate of Lincoln High School, Alma Center, the new Mrs. Gates also
attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She is employed at a Merrillan
food store. The groom graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1973. He
is assistant manager of a Neillsville retail store.
