Gatz, Marian (25 January 1924 – 29 April 1975)
Mrs. John Gatz, 51, Greenwood, died April 29 at her home following an illness of
several years. Mrs. Gatz, the former Marian Susa, daughter of Paul and Anna
(Waseca) Susa, was born January 25, 1924, in Greenwood, where she spent most of
her life.
She was married in Chicago February 16, 1946, to John Gatz, who survives. After
their marriage they came to Greenwood, where they have farmed ever since.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Alfred (Suzanne)
Bredlau of Neillsville, and Miss Cheryl Gatz of Chicago; and by four
grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Anna Susa, of Greenwood; and a brother, Howard
Susa of Greenwood.
Funeral services were held Friday at 10 a.m. from the Hill Funeral Home, and 11
a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Houston, pastor,
officiated. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Pallbearer, all cousins, were: Giles Susa, James Susa, Robert Susa, Gilbert
Susa, Albert Susa and Cletus Susa.
The St. Mary’s church choir sang accompanied on the organ by Thomas Zepaltas.
Those who came from a distance were: Miss Cheryl Gatz, John Lawler and Claudia
Mitchell of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morandie of Crystal Lake, Il.,; Gilbert
Susa of Clintonville; and Albert Susa of Kaukauna.
