Wohler, Rev. Richard (8 JUL 1931 - 28 OCT 2018)
Rev. Richard Wohler, 87, Brooklyn Center, MN, former Spirit resident, died in
the Methodist Hospital in Saint Louis Park, MN, on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
He was born on July 8, 1931, in Ransom, North Dakota, the son of Peter and May
(Holding) Wohler. He attended and earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Northwestern
College in Minneapolis. He was married to Marjorie Bergman in Cayuga, North
Dakota, on August 19, 1951. Following their marriage they lived in North Dakota,
Minnesota, Iowa, Wyoming, and Wisconsin. He was a lifelong Pastor, serving from
1953 to 2007, most recently at the Spirit Baptist Church in Spirit. In his free
time he enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, baking, and making sauerkraut.
He is survived by five children, Kent (Carol), Hastings, MN, Robyn (Erin)
Feldges, Melbourne, FL, Bethany (Paul) Lovell, Hutto, TX, Kathy (Ken) Woods,
Sydney, Australia, and Peter (Jessica), Minneapolis, MN; by son-in-law, Joel
Jahraus, Bonita Springs, FL; by 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and
by one brother, Jerry (Rita), Bird Island, MN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, On October 7, 2015; by one
daughter, Cynthia Jahraus; and by one great granddaughter, Abigail.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 3, at the
Spirit Baptist Church in Spirit with Pastor Duane Harper, Pastor Jonn Morrow,
and Pastor Rodney Price officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories
Cemetery in the Town of Hill. Friends may call at the church on Friday, November
2, after 4:30 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
