Younker, Rosa (15 MAR 1891 – 08 SEP 1969)
Funeral services for Rosa Younker, 78, of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), will be held
Friday, September 12, 1969, at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester.
Mrs. Younker died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. She had been in
ill health the past six months.
The Rev. Gerald Schuh will officiated at the services and burial will be at St.
Louis (Dorchester Memorial) Cemetery.
Friends may call at Maurina Funeral Home at Dorchester after 2 p.m. Thursday,
September 11. A rosary service will be said at 3 p.m. Thursday by the Ladies
Altar Society, and there will be a parish rosary service at 8:30 p.m.
The former Rosa Behring was born at Abbotsford March 15, 1891. Her marriage to
Anton Younker took place May 19, 1909, at Dorchester.
They lived on a farm west of the village until 1955, when they moved to Colby.
He husband died May 21, 1963, and Mrs. Younker continued to live at her home
until February 1969, when she made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Loretta
Fritsche, at Dorchester.
She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, and the Ladies' Altar
Society.
Surviving are two sons, Rudolph of Norwood, Minnesota, and Norbert of
Dorchester; and four daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Loretta) Fritsche of Dorchester,
Mrs. Adolph (Eva) Kind, of Germantown, Wisconsin, Mrs. Vera Henning of
Abbotsford, and Mrs. Reynold (Anna) Nuernberger of Stetsonville. There are also
19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Anna Braatz of Milwaukee and Mrs. Elroy
(Emma) Broeske of Colby, and a brother, Carl Behring of Wausau.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters.
