Loos, Susan Marie (20 SEP 1969)

Miss Sussan Marie Loos, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Loos of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Gary Allen Krauter, son of Mrs. Luella Krauter of Colby, at a 7 p.m. candlelight service Saturday, September 20, 1969, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. The Rev. David Pankow officiated. Mrs. William Frome was the organist. Mrs. Fred Caskey was the soloist, singing "The Song of Ruth" and "The Lord's Prayer."

Mrs. Larry Meyer of Dorchester, a friend of the bride, attended as matron of honor. Sara Jane Loos of South Bend, Indiana, sister of the bride, and Gail Reineking of Colby, a friend of the bride, were the bridesmaids.

The best man was Ronald Bruesewitz of Michigan. Groomsmen included Lary Westberg of Colby and Steven Brown. All are friends of the groom.

The guests were ushered by Peter Kaiser and Randy Westberg, both of Colby.

The bride appeared on the arm of her father wearing a floor length gown of beau ganza, with detachable chapel sweep train. The A-line skimmer was designed with a Victorian neckline embroidered with pearls. The long sleeves tapered over the writs. The gown front was accented with a divided row of trellised lace. The border of the train was also enriched witht eh lace. The short nylon bouffant veil was secured to a headpiece of organa petals centered with a cabbage rose studded with crystal, and with the organza petals encircled with pearls and sequins. A row of daisies defined the length of the gown. Waistline interest was created by a band of chiffon ending in a large bow at the back. Her flowers consisted of four orchids in diamond shape, stephanotis and ivy leaves around the outside.

The attendants were attired in punch chiffon dresses styled with a floor length skirt. Highlights of the empire bodice were long sheer sleeves gathered at the writes and banded with daisies and a jewel neckline, also trimmed with daisies. Their flowers were bronze daisy pompons and white daisies entwined with in two wicker bells.

The ceremony, attended by 225 guests, was followed by a reception at the Colby Hotel.

Out of town guests came from California, North Dakota, Minnesota, Tennessee, and the surrounding area.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Canada, the couple will be making their home at 609 South Main in Colby.

The bride, a 1967 graduate of Colby High School, and a 1969 graduate of the Accredited Beauty School, Eau Claire, is employed at Helen's Style Shoppe at Colby. The groom, a 1964 graduate of Colby High School, is employed at the Packaging Corporation of America at Colby.
